THE LOFT
Lidgard Sails Italy is located in Latina, 60 km.
south of Roma and 6 km. from the Tirrenian sea.
The loft is 150 sqm. and is equipped with 5 machines
including a heavy duty sewing machine.
The sails are produced using the SailMaker
software and are plotted on a Blackman & White

UltraBond system for gluing the sails without sewing
the panels.
The main marinas close to the loft are Fiumicino
(70 km), Anzio-Nettuno (22 km), Circeo (20 km) and
Formia-Gaeta (40 km).
The main boats serviced by Lidgard Sails Italy are:
85 ft classic boat 'Gael'
50 ft Ocean Racer 'WIWA'
Libera class 'TELEBOX SPEEDY'
Mini Transat 'SEAC BANCHE'
Mono 22
International 14 skiff.
LOFT HISTORY
Created in November 1994, GD Sails rapidly developed
on the local marketplace.
In Spring 1995, the owner of the classic Maxi yacht
'GAEL' called on us to manufacture two mainsails and
an asymmetric spinnaker for his boat. Since then 'GAEL"
has crossed the Atlantic Ocean 4 times without sail
failure.
In 1996, GD Sails signed up with Lidgard Sails and
started using Hi-Technologies such as the SailMaker
design software, a computer driven plotter and the
UltraBond gun for gluing the panels without sewing.
Today, Lidgard Sails Italy is the major sails supplier
on the local market. More importantly, Lidgard Italy
Sails recently realised a new mainsail for the Open
50' ocean racer 'WIWA', a full new inventory for the
Libera class 'TELEBOX SPEEDY' and the full inventory
for the Mini Transat 'SEAC BANCHE' which led the first
part of leg one during the last Mini Transat Race.
