SY Naos
18 November 2005
To Whom It May Concern
It gives me great pleasure to write this reference for Sean Lidgard at Lidgard Sails, who have made a full set of sails and shipped them halfway round the world from NZ to Palma on time, at a great price and the sails fit perfectly for Naos, a 106ft Ron Holland designed sloop.
We were obviously concerned about getting sails made in the other hemisphere, but Sean arranged for all the measuring and fitting we required with affiliated lofts. The workmanship, sewing reinforcing and patching is superb, I am sure the boat will get many years of use out of the sails.
The shipping and logistics of receiving the sails also went very smoothly, we had just completed a busy Med summer season and when we arrived in Palm the sails were waiting to be delivered to the boat with just one phone call.
I must congratulate Sean and his team on a fine job, he has been a pleasure to deal with and I would certainly use Lidgards again
Yours sincerely

To whom it may concern
My brother and I own What's News, a Young 8.4 yacht. During 2003 we increased the height of the mast and purchased a new mainsail, No.1 and No. 3 gibs and a masthead spinnaker from Lidgards.
We found the team at Lidgards to be both informative and friendly. They included us in the design process to ensure the sails both suited the boat and our sailing requirements and produced sails that are well made and fast.
Their after sales support has been a point of difference to sailmakers we have used in the past. Lidgards have always been available to discuss all aspects of yachting with us, whether it be boat tune, sailing systems or sail options for the boat.
I would not hesitate in recommending Lidgards to potential and current customers and will continue to use them for future sails. Yours sincerely

Subject: Great Sail Wardrobe

From: Dave Mason
This note is to express my thanks for the effort you and your team put into our recent sail wardrobe.
The results speak for themselves on the racetrack and we're noticing the little things now, like the
quality of the design and workmanship - even the easy to handle sailbags. Thank you for all the fleet
analysis work. Your suggestion to build in twist in the genoa was a winner. There's many Young 88
skippers scratching their heads at our speed and height. This is the first time anyone has spent
time with us to fully understand how the rig works in different conditions.
Also - congratulations on your new loft move. I was over there a few days ago (you must have been out
on the water) to get an older main dropped in to set up for short handing. What a fantastic buzz
you guys have going over there - good location too.
As far as I'm concerned I'm finished with 'off the shelf sails' from Norths and Doyles and you have
all our business. Catch you on the water. Cheers

I finally got to try out the new kite last Saturday. We had 15-20 knots which was perfect for the new kite. Looked really nice, was easy to trim and moved the boat really well. Saw consistent 8-9 knots downwind, we were able to sail away from a couple of boats that we usually have trouble with downwind, a Capri 25 and Santana 525. Thanks again

Just wanted to let you know how pleased we have been with our new No. 1.
Apart from the fact you got the sail to us in time for the China Coast Regatta with only 10 days notice, the sail suits the boat perfectly, gives it a nice groove, and has given us real upwind pace in mid-strength breeze. We are beating boats that used to sail away upwind, and we are winning more often.
I'll need a new main before the summer, so I'll keep you posted. We will take our old one to the Philippines on the China Sea Race, after which it will be truly gone!
Cheers
Simon Wood
